How to use WhatsApp Payments
Enable UPI payments inside WhatsApp chats: configuration, payment methods, sending orders, and tracking payment status.
What you need
WhatsApp Pay on the India stack settles over UPI. You need a verified WhatsApp Business Account, a payment configuration created with your provider (Razorpay or PayU are the common gateways), and the configuration ID they issue.
Configure AiConva
- Open WA Payments → Settings and paste your configuration ID.
- Enable payments for the workspace.
- Add at least one payment method (UPI is the default) with a display name customers will recognise.
- Send yourself a test order and pay ₹1 to verify the loop end-to-end.
The payment journey
You send an order message with the amount and an order reference. The customer sees a native Pay button inside WhatsApp, approves via their UPI app, and the order status in AiConva moves from sent to paid. Failed or expired payments stay visible so agents can follow up in the same thread.
Every order lives in the WA Payments table with its reference, amount, and status — filter by status to chase unpaid orders.
