Set up a welcome WhatsApp chatbot

Greet first-time customers automatically with a keyword-triggered flow, route them to a menu, and hand off to the team inbox.

How the welcome flow fires

Flows in AiConva are trigger-based. A welcome bot uses a keyword trigger — typically "hi", "hello", or the word your wa.me link pre-fills — and runs when an inbound message matches. Replies inside the 24-hour service window are free, so the whole bot conversation costs nothing.

Build it

  1. Open Flows → New flow and name it Welcome bot.
  2. Set the trigger type to keyword and the keyword to hi (the default trigger config).
  3. Start from a flow template in the library if one fits — templates pre-fill the step definition — or build steps by hand.
  4. First step: greet and present a menu (1. Catalogue, 2. Offers, 3. Talk to a human).
  5. Route option 3 to assignment: the conversation lands unassigned in Live Chat where any agent can claim it.
  6. Publish the flow. Draft flows never fire.
Test it end-to-end in mock mode: send a simulated inbound "hi" from the Inbox test tools and watch the flow answer.

Good welcome-bot manners

Answer instantly, but say it's a bot. Offer a human path in every menu. Honour STOP automatically — AiConva opts contacts out on STOP/UNSUBSCRIBE keywords no matter what your flow does.
